By the end of this Structural Design Diploma, you will have learned how to independently design four complete projects. You will gain a solid understanding of structural systems, become proficient in the most widely used structural design software, perform all required design checks, calculate reinforcement, prepare professional construction drawings, and produce ready-to-print drawing packages.

In just 64 hours, you will learn how to perform structural design for different types of buildings and deliver a complete project package, including all drawings, from the layout stage to the reinforcement plans.

Throughout the diploma, you will learn how to manually design structural elements as well as design them using industry-standard software, with practical applications across multiple real-world projects.

The diploma is divided into five main stages:

1. AutoCAD

You will learn everything from the basic commands to producing:

Architectural plans
Structural plans
Column schedules and sections
Reinforcement detailing drawings

2. SAP2000

You will review the fundamentals of structural engineering and learn:

Structural elements and their behavior
Structural modeling techniques
Analysis of trusses, frames, and beams
Different slab systems and their analysis methods
Importing geometry directly from AutoCAD

3. ETABS & SAFE

You will understand the importance of these software packages in building analysis and design and learn how to:

Create complete structural models
Identify and select appropriate structural systems
Calculate and assign loads according to the applicable design code
Perform structural analysis and design of building components

4. Structural Analysis & Design of Various Structural Elements

This stage covers the design of:

Beams
Solid Slabs
Flat Slabs
Columns
Shallow Foundations
Staircases

5. Final Project

You will complete and submit your first project with all required drawings and documentation.

You will then begin the design of a second project, including all its structural elements, while:

Developing a complete ETABS and SAFE model
Performing the full structural design process
