Mahmoud Abdelhamid is a Teaching Assistant at Cairo University and holds an MSc in Civil Engineering (Irrigation and Hydraulics) from Ain Shams University. His academic and professional work focuses on groundwater modeling, with experience in saltwater intrusion, groundwater contamination, and subsurface drainage systems. He has also worked on several hydrodynamic water quality modeling projects.
He has developed and calibrated regional-scale groundwater models and contributed to applied water resources projects in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, the USA, Tanzania, and Qatar. In his work, he integrates Python and GIS tools to support data analysis, visualization, and workflow automation.
He is particularly interested in applying data science techniques to water engineering challenges and actively shares educational content to promote open knowledge and reproducible workflows.
